White Poppies can be worn alongside of or as an alternative to Red poppies to remember all victims of war, not only soldiers, but civilians as well. In our own time 90% of casualties of war are civilians according to UNICEF.
In contrast to the red poppy with its implicit and explicit support for armed force the white poppy represents a commitment to find ways to resolve conflicts without recourse to armed conflict.
