Speakers and workshops covering a wide range of topics from the struggle to oppose Trident to halting the arms trade and the campaign to shut down nuclear power plants.
Wednesday, September 11: 2:30pm. Planning meeting to organise protests at the time of the NATO summit to be held in London on December 3. Trump may attend. Plan to hold coordinated rallies in cities around Scotland. Glasgow meeting at Scottish CND office. At same time as meeting in Edinburgh with the two meetings connected through computer communication. Sponsored by NO TO NATO coalition.
Thursday, September 19: Paisley Vigil from 1-2 on High Street next to the war memorial, two blocks from the Paisley Gilmour train station. Sponsored by the Scottish Peace Network. Banner, placards and flyers provided.
Friday, September 20: Peace contingent at the mass march to oppose climate change. March to begin at 11 from Kelvingrove Park and end at George Square. The Peace Network will join the SCND contingent at the march. A flyer linking climate change to militarism will be distributed.
Thursday, September 26: Monthly vigil from 5-6pm at Dewar’s statue on Buchanan Street. Banner, placards and flyers provided. Sponsored by the Scottish Peace Network.
