Thursday, May 2, 6:00pm: History tour. Assemble at the cenotaph in George Square for a radical history tour. Several stops relevant to working class history before ending at Glasgow Green.
Saturday, May 4, 2:00 pm: Movie to be screened at the Quaker House, 38 Elmbank Crescent, near Charing Cross station. Salt of the Earth, a 1954 docudrama based on a miners’ strike in New Mexico in 1951. The movie emphasizes the role played by women in the strike. The director and several of the actors were among those blacklisted for the Communist Party sympathies.
Sunday, May 5, 2:30 pm: Picnic to be held on the Glasgow Green at the bicycle station in the part of the Green opposite the carpet factory. Songs and poems. Bring food and drink to be shared. Family friendly.
